Five Things The Chamber Did For Your Business: February 2 – February 6, 2026
This week’s Five Things is a special Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.) Conference Edition. W.A.C.E. is the leading three-year professional development program in the West dedicated exclusively to chamber professionals, and our team spent last week in Tucson, Arizona learning alongside peers from across the region. From leadership and advocacy to innovation, operations, and member engagement, the conference was packed with valuable insights and practical ideas.
We’re excited to share five key takeaways we’re bringing home—lessons that will help us better serve our members, strengthen our organization, and continue moving our business community forward.
- From Patrick: Two of my biggest takeaways from the W.A.C.E. Conference were: Action + Result = Motivation, and the simple but powerful reminder to always be there for others. Both reinforced that leadership is built through consistency, follow-through, and showing up in meaningful ways for the people and communities we serve.
- From Timarie: My key takeaway from this year’s Conference is: Any trait we see as “negative” can often become a strength, when it’s balanced and not taken too far. The key is learning to reframe how we view ourselves, so we can build confidence and close the gaps we feel within.
- From Debbie: This conference, I think because I have been in this role for over a year, was great for increasing my knowledge of Chamber workings. The connections I made were so special and will connect the MWCOC with other chambers from Texas and the western region and I am so glad I was able to attend.
- From Maritza: W.A.C.E. was such a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow Chamber colleagues and build new relationships. I’m excited to collaborate, exchange ideas, and work together to strengthen our region and support local businesses. Can’t wait to brainstorm programming that truly benefits our members!
- From Laura: My first year at the W.A.C.E. Conference was such a positive experience and an opportunity to continue building on what I learned at Academy last year. My biggest takeaway was a session on branding and storytelling, which focused on the importance of using the Chamber voice to share meaningful narratives that make local impact truly resonate!
We’re proud to be part of a vibrant, engaged business community—one fueled by collaboration, authentic connections, and shared progress. Whether you’ve joined us in person, supported our efforts behind the scenes, or stayed connected online, we sincerely appreciate the energy and support you bring to our shared success.
