Five Things The Chamber Did For Your Business: August 4 – 8, 2025
Last week, the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber staff had the privilege of attending the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) Academy in San Francisco—a premier, three-year professional development program dedicated to advancing chamber leaders across the Western United States. Thanks to the support of our Board of Directors, four of our team members proudly began their Year 1 journey.
This immersive experience offered valuable insights, fresh perspectives, and meaningful connections with fellow chamber professionals. We returned inspired and energized, ready to bring innovative ideas and strengthened strategies to continue building a dynamic, forward-thinking Chamber that serves and uplifts our community.
From Patrick, CEO of the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce:
"The W.A.C.E. Academy program is the cornerstone of my career in the chamber world. I can say without hesitation that it's the reason I’ve not only stayed in this industry but have thrived in it. When you’re new to this field, Academy doesn’t just give you tools, it builds your foundation. It clarifies your purpose, sharpens your focus, and gives you the confidence to lead effectively from day one.
I’ve always believed in the power of professional development, and I’ve been fortunate to have a board that fully supports that vision. Because of that, we’ve made it a priority to send our staff through this program. It’s not just an investment in individuals; it's an investment in our organization’s future. The insights, the network, the passion that Academy graduates bring back with them: Invaluable."
- From Patrick: I was grateful to be able to teach at the WACE Academy program for the second year in a row. Being able to share my chamber experience and knowledge with other chamber professionals is so exciting to me. I am so passionate about this industry and honored to be able to help those who will be our future leaders.
- From Chris: WACE was an incredible experience – I really enjoyed getting to meet chamber pros from across the region and share ideas. The energy and passion in the room was contagious. One of my favorite sessions was Membership Sales & Recruitment. It gave me a fresh perspective on how to better communicate our chamber’s value and create a more intentional path from interest to membership. I walked away with tools I can use right away.
- From Debbie: Going to the WACE Academy is a great start to building my knowledge of Chamber of Commerce life. The networking became friend making by the third day. In learning about membership, I really came to see that it is not just having "members" it is truly building a relationship to make our community and life better.
- From Maritza: Starting Year 1 of Academy has been a very exciting and motivating experience! I loved reconnecting with fellow Chamber friends, meeting new ones, & bouncing ideas around along the way. One of my favorite parts was learning more about the behind the scenes of how Chambers operate, including how we can create a strong & engaged board, staff, and business community.
- From Laura:I was nervous going into Year 1 of WACE, but it quickly turned into excitement as I began connecting with peers and professionals from other Chambers - comparing experiences and learning how each operates. My favorite course was Marketing & Communications, as it really highlighted the importance of my role in being the voice of the Chamber and ensuring we reach our members effectively.
We’re passionate about uplifting our business community through intentional events, authentic relationships, and opportunities to grow together. Whether you’ve joined us in person, cheered us on, or stayed connected from afar, we truly appreciate the role you play and the positive energy you bring to this shared journey.
